Welcome to America Supports You

Kids Take Action

Every day you are helped by many people — bus drivers, teachers, cafeteria workers — and they appreciate your thanks for what they do. But there is one group of people you may not think about thanking — our military men and women, who serve all over the world.

America Supports You (ASY) was created to help people thank the men and women of the military who work hard to protect our freedoms. And this special Web site, America Supports You: Kids Take Action, can help you say “thanks,” too.

At Kids and Troops Take Action, you can read about kids like you who are saying “thanks” to our troops. You can also learn how American troops around the world are reaching out to people in need.

Kids and Troops Take Action

Here are a few of the great things kids, their families, and service members are doing to say “thank you” and to help others.

Kids Say Thanks, One Cup at a Time

The students at Enid, Oklahoma’s Cimarron Montessori School hosted a lemonade stand. And their hard work paid off. They were able to donate $600 to the efforts of their local America Supports You program.

Meeting a Real Marine

First and third graders in Arizona were excited to meet a real marine when U.S. Marine Sergeant Michael Sandoval visited their classes. The children were happy to comply when Sergeant Sandoval asked them to make cards, letters, and pictures to send to troops in Iraq.

America Supports You Freedom Walk: September 11, 2006

September 7, 2008, will be the third anniversary of the America Supports You Freedom Walk. In addition to the walk in Washington, D.C., cities in every state hold their own ASY Freedom Walks during September to remember and honor our troops, our veterans, and the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
